Dave,

Any thoughts on how this new national title should send some more 5 star recruits to UConn??

Will help greatly in recruiting, though UConn has done just fine without too many 5-stars lately.

I agree. UCONN has never won with 5-star recruits but rather with guys who have talent and are not interested in leaving after one year of college ball. For some reason, UCONN fans are fixated on the need to get the McDonald high-school all stars and bue-chip recruits. Calhoun and his staff have done a damn good job over the years identifying talented kids who are willing to commit and play under his system. I have faith that they will continue to succeed just fine!

I agree with Dave. However, Kemba Walker and Oriakhi were both 5 star recruits. It's not so much the category of recruit, but the type of player. Regardless of "stars," Uconn does an incredible job at recruiting and getting the right players to fit into their system. They also have a knack for developing big men. (See Thabeet, Armstrong, Boone, Okwandu just to name a few recent ones). And sometimes 5 star recruits don't pan out. (See Curtis Kelly!!!)

Thanks for a good season, Dave. Always enjoy following your blog during the season.
