Honestly thought there was no way Memphis would beat UConn Thursday night

We'll just leave you with some video footage.

The night started off positive for UConn, with Pat Lenehan ...

And Ryan Boatright ...

... being honored on Senior Night.

Then came an overall poor performance, as Memphis flipped the Senior Night script. The Tigers were clearly the better team Thursday night, and the game was only close thanks to UConn's massive (22-2) free throw advantage, something Josh Pastner is getting used to in the Nutmeg State.

When it was over, this is what Kevin Ollie ...

... and Ryan Boatright had to say ....

  1. perhaps anticoach + antiplayer could form nucleus of new nba franchise; they could go to some city USA and work there magic together

  2. UCONN is not considered a major player by the PowerFive Conferences. The reason is that real head coaches were needed by respective basketball and football programs. They were not put in place and only assistant coaches were hired. Also, the administration is not considered major league due to the use of the same good ol boy hotlantaheadhunter with its full array of U of Georgia alumni principals. This retained, guaranteed fee executive search and placement consultancy got the job for the current Storrs football coach, got the job for the man at SUNYBuffalo and got the job for the same man who is now in Storrs, got the job for the Storrs ceo in previous role as chancellor of University System of Georgia and got the job for the new ceo of UCONN Foundation recently. Hence, the big dogs are now puppies in a morph Yankee Conference facsimile with no rivals, no recruiting pull, no schedule, no interest from alumni and friends and media and dwindling attendance at Gampel and XL and the Rent.
