Greetings from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, where UConn will compete in the Paradise Jam, starting on Friday against Wake Forest at 6:30 p.m.

The Huskies won't arrive here until tomorrow around 5 p.m., but I can vouch that New Mexico is already here, as Steve Alford & Co. were on my flight out of Miami. Mercer is here, too. Quinnipiac will arrive sometime on Thursday. Give UConn and Quinnipiac credit for spending an extra day back home, taking classes.

UConn, which didn't practice Wednesday, is slated to practice shortly after arriving at St. Thomas Thursday evening.

UConn may have a bit of a homecourt disadvantage Friday night, as locals in the crowd may be rooting for Wake Forest. The reason: former Demon Deacon star Tim Duncan is a native of St. Croix, one of the three islands of this U.S. territory.

Friday's game will be televised by the CBS Sports Network. After that, UConn's games will be either on the CBS Sports Network or live-streamed, free of charge, on ParadiseJam.com and Facebook.com/ParadiseJam1. Games broadcast on CBS Sports Network will also be live-streamed for free outside of the United States and Canada.
