Brandon Knight, arguably the No. 1 recruit in the nation, will announce his collegiate decision Wednesday at 4 p.m. It will be televised on ESPNU. After that, the rest of the dominos (Josh Selby, Cory Joseph, C.J. Leslie, Doron Lamb, etc.) will fall.
For UConn fans crossing their fingers for Knight to come to Storrs, here's a bit of news: there has been contact between Knight and the UConn staff within the last day or two. That may not mean anything, but it's all we've got right now.
Stay tuned ...
Are you purposely trying to mess w/. me David?
ReplyDeleteMy hope has not raised slightly from the ashes- I so want this to be over, but just the mere thought of a Knight/Walker back court is surreal
That's what I've been told. Again, may not mean much.
ReplyDeleteSee ZagsBlog posting... http://www.zagsblog.com/2010/04/13/knights-coach-uncertain-of-destination-pitt-still-recruiting-mo-walker-williams-to-hire-agent/
ReplyDeleteHow many scholarships does UConn currently have left? From the Zagsblog article, it seems likely that if Knight commits, Leslie will as well, and I don't think UConn has one scholarship left, let alone two.
ReplyDeleteShabazz remains '11 and Olander red-shirt...not to mention possible Xfer
ReplyDeleteYou can always make room for the right players. Kentucky ran off a bunch last year and seemed to do very well.
ReplyDeleteAll indications have pointed to Kentucky. Any reason to think otherwise?
ReplyDeleteMost likely contacted them to say " Don't waste a trip " UK bound!
ReplyDeleteI'm a UK fan. Concerned about Knight's take on Rod Strickland's DUI, I think reported yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI think Knight answered the phone and said 'na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye.'
ReplyDeleteuhmmmm why would he come to a school that has no coach signed for next year? what ever did happen to the 7 missing games??
ReplyDeleteand lets face it.............ucon is so over
ReplyDeleteIt is common courtesy for a recruit to call to say thanks for all your effort, i had a tough time but in the end I chose school X. In my opinion this is what happened.
ReplyDeleteand let's face it..........kyrie irving is better on and off the court. and kyrie actually can speak english that we all can understand!
ReplyDeleteI know you arent saying Irving is better on and off the court than Knight. Knight is a very well-spoken and well-raised young man who has made straight A's all 12 years of school. There is NO other player who is better off the court, and not many who are better on the court.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a bunch of insecure kentucky fans have invaded this site.
ReplyDeleteAs a UK fan I'm really not too worried about this. Knight actually used the term "we" when talking about Kentucky about 2-3 weeks ago. Unless Uconn has somehow managed to make the greatest recruiting push of all time at the last minute, Knight is going to UK.
ReplyDeleteKnight called to tell them he is signing with KY....write it down.
ReplyDeleteIf Uconn doesn't get him at least the university can retain its integrity. Calhoun is trying to run a program here, not a revolving door.
ReplyDeleteCalhoun and integrity, as a UConn fan I find that hilarious!
ReplyDeleteNate Miles?
ReplyDeleteI just pray the old man leaves before he gets us put on probation. Everyone and their brother knows the old guy cheats. Jim will retire in the middle of next season. Mark it down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteA lot of rumors around campus that the adminisration reached out to Bruce Pearl and were hoping Calhoun would retire during last season.
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine that is close to the athletic Dept says that Pearl wants the job if offered.
Yeah, a guy who has raised millions for cancer has no integrity...
ReplyDeleteNot a insecure Ky fan here...... They gonna clean up this week. Read it and weep
ReplyDeleteNo your just a fan from kentucky checking out the new haven register. No insecurities their.
ReplyDeletetheres a alot of hillbillies on here all of a sudden UK sucks!!
ReplyDeleteRaising money for charity doesn't mean he isn't a cheater. Cal raised a million bucks for Haiti by the way....Also, not sure why any UCONN fan would be praising Kyrie Irving, because he's going to Duke last I checked.
ReplyDeletedook last I checked
ReplyDelete-fixed
I don't think a fan of Kentucky has any business logging on to an innocent blog post regarding UCONN to accuse Calhoun of having no integrity... I'd be surprised if Calhoun has done worse over the course of his entire tenure than Cal has in the last year and a half
ReplyDeletewhy go to a college in a state where it is viewed as 'normal' when boys fuck their sisters...
ReplyDeleteWhat is really sad and disturbing about that last comment is I am betting you actually believe that.
ReplyDeletego cats
ReplyDeleteKemba, Brandon Knight, that would be an unstopable backcourt. I also read that where ever Knight signs, so to will Lesile, so today we will find out if we get both or maybe left in the dust!
ReplyDeleteI am not counting on BKnight at UConn but I would be more then happy to see C Joseph and D Lamb in the backcourt with Kemba and JCM
ReplyDeletelike i said yesterday.............why would brandon knight go to a team that does not have a coach signed for next year? ucon is OVER!!! calhoun is OVER!!
ReplyDeleteUm.. im pretty sure these dumb Kentucky fans fail to realize Calhoun signed a deal for 4 more years. Of course when your coach notoriously cheats all the time you fail to pay attention to the little things
ReplyDeleteinteresting read! for all basketball fans , i would also recommend reading http://trophysportsbook.com/sportsbooks-in-america/
ReplyDeleteZagsBlog posting is also good.
ReplyDeleteKentucky will be loaded this year, but if most of the team stays they will start to dominate when Gilchrist joins the team.
